Dog vomit Slime mould on my next door neighbour's decking.
Fuligo septica

Not a fungus at all but a myxomycete (myxo =slime or mucus) but studied by mycologists (I feel I must mention Bruce Ing)

A bit like a collection of single celled organisms coming together and producing spores (like a fungus)

crossing a bridge between single and multicellular organisms.

This one is also known as "Flowers of tan" as it was often found on oak bark in tanneries

I don't think I've ever seen one as big as this.

2 and 3 days later ,it has changed from a yellow blob into a chocolate brown spore producing mass

Early morning walk today and saw Yellow Fieldcap (Bolbitius titubans ) in the grass on the left at the top of Kingsbridge Hill below the Lime tree.
Unusual in February? However they're very short lived at the best of times so maybe not always seen.
